![]() PastorDawn grew up in a small town in Indiana but has lived in the South all of her adult life. Dawn received her Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Seminary in 1992. After ordination, she was a campus minister in Virginia and also served churches there. In 1999, Dawn and her husband, Joseph, moved to Cartersville, Georgia, where Dawn was the Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church. In December 2008, she joyfully accepted the call to become Pastor at First Presbyterian in Brunswick. Dawn and Joseph have been married fourteen years. Joseph also is an ordained minister. Dawn and Joseph enjoy living in Brunswick! In her spare time, Dawn likes to read, cook, and spend time outside in the beautiful Golden Isles with Joseph and their two collies. ![]() Associate PastorLou Ellen Hartley has been the Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church since the fall of 2000. Lou Ellen is a native of Colorado who found her way to the southeast via the Midwest. She has served in congregations, camping ministry and inner city ministries in Georgia, Illinois and Kentucky. She works closely with the Christian Education Team and the Outreach Team as they minister together to provide discipleship and mission opportunities to the congregation. Lou Ellen spends half of her work week with First Presbyterian Church and the other half with Savannah Presbytery as the associate for Christian Education. Along with her husband, Brett, Lou Ellen enjoys biking and kayaking and all the beach has to offer. ![]() Office ManagerR.V. became the Office Manager at First Presbyterian Church on September 11, 2006. A native of Brunswick, R.V. spent his childhood in the South End, where he lived on Egmont Street, attended First United Methodist Church, and went to school at Glynn Middle School and Glynn Academy. R.V. was a professional musician for ten years, traveling mostly in the Southeast. After returning to Brunswick in the late 1980’s, R.V. was a supervisor for a local beverage company. R.V. is a successful business man who has owned Daddy Cates Coffees, Inc. since 2002. R.V. is an avid player of percussion of all types and loves all flavors of music. R.V. has been married to his wife, Dee Dee, for 30 years. Their son, Dylan, is a First Classman at Virginia Military Institute. ![]() Music DirectorBob Baker spent his early years in Lisbon, Ohio, where he graduated from David Anderson High School with honors. He received a B.S. from Maryville College with a major in mathematics, as well as instruction in music as a member of the college’s Vesper Choir. For several years, Bob directed the Senior High Chorus at Second Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee. After receiving an advanced degree from the University of Chattanooga, he attended the University of Chicago as a Kellogg Fellow. While living in Nebraska, he completed the requirements for a Certificate in Church Organ from the School of Music, University of Nebraska. Bob served several years as a board member of the Nebraska Chapter of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers. Since 1968 he has directed church adult and handbell choirs in Illinois, Nebraska and Georgia. ![]() OrganistA native of Brunswick, Myra graduated from Glynn Academy. She then graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon with a degree in music, focusing primarily on organ. She taught private piano and organ lessons here and in Nashville, Tennessee. She also served on the staff of Cadek Conservatory in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Myra has served as an organist continually since she was fourteen years old. She played soprano/tenor recorders with Sweet Record, an early music group, and currently plays tin whistle with the authentic Irish band, Malarkey. She is learning to play the Irish Folk Harp. Myra has served as organist at First Presbyterian Church for about fourteen years. Her husband is Monte Korb, an engineer and owner of Korb Engineering. Parish NursePatti was born in Newport, RI, and grew up as a Navy brat! She lived in France, Italy, and both coasts as a child. Patti graduated from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, which was the oldest continuously operating public hospital in the world prior to Hurricane Katrina. With 30+ years of nursing experience in New Orleans and Brunswick, Patti currently works at the Cancer Care Center of Southeast Georgia Health System as a chemo nurse. Patti completed a basic parish nurse course in a consortium program between Baptist Theological Seminary and Union Seminary in Richmond, VA. She also completed advanced parish nurse course through West Virginia University. In addition to basic RN licensure and certification as a parish nurse, Patti is also board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Corporation. She serves as a Parish Nurse and Health Ministry Consultant to the Presbyterian Church, USA. Patti is the wife of Conrad, and her daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Mike Mayfield, are also members of FPC. |
